Borderlands Update – Lilith Skills Fixed

Updates to Borderlands have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Update 1.0.1

Characters that have lost skill points will have the lost points refunded
Clients will no longer lose proficiency progress upon leaving a co-op game
Item cards now display the intended five lines of detail text
Lilith's Phase strike and melee attacks from Phase Walk now function as intended
Voicechat: users can now control volume and individually mute players
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused CL4P-TP to stop progressing during the introduction
Server browser population times have been improved
Server information should now always display the correct plot mission
Benchmarking feature now works as intended
Nvidia 3D Vision visuals now render shadows correctly (requires minimum 195.28 drivers, available from nVidia)

If you are anything like me, you would have gotten lost once or twice in this game, confused as to where an exactly quest location is. Well it seems that someone has created an extremely handy map, including the links between levels, which will no doubt save you from driving clear across a map, only to end up in the wrong level.

Claptrap Locations And Why You Should Care

The 'Claptrap Rescue' quests completed in the first playthrough of the game award you +3 backpack slots. There are a total of 10 Claptraps to rescue, resulting in +30 backpack slots.

If you do not rescue all of the Claptraps before you start your second playthrough you can not go back and do them later, you will have missed out on the backpack expansion slots. (42 slots is the legitimate max)

Here are the areas which have a Claptrap Rescue quest.

New Haven
Crazy Earl's Scrapyard
Krom's Canyon
Tetanus Warrens
Trash Coast
Old Haven

It seems there is some serious drama in getting the multiplayer working at the moment. As its still early, no one is really sure where the problem lies, but one possible 'weak link' is the GameSpy network. One workaround that seems to have more success, is to create a single player game, and then invite players to your game that way.

The ports that are recommended to be forwarded are (honestly, who has to forward ports for games these days?):

7777 (TCP/UDP)
28900 (TCP)
27900 (UDP)
28910 (TCP)
6500 (UDP) (GameSpy)
